More is more in my book though. I used a similar block in clashing colours as a background to some larger blocks and it is one of my favourite quilts. If you look back at vintage scrappy quilts they always have clashing colours, ugly blocks, make do blocks using several fabrics or pieced bit to stretch the last little bits of fabric and I must say I love them!
